UCA is currently has 9 committees dedicated to Community Outreach, Corporate Outreach, Design, Finance, Member Relations, Secretary, Publicity, Strategic Consulting, and Editorial.
Community Outreach Committee
The Community Outreach Committee creates promotional marketing strategies for UCA and its events to reach out to the students on campus. In addition, it organizes tabling and chalking schedule for UCA members, and is in charge of outreach event planning, such as UCA professor speaker events.
Corporate Outreach Committee
The Corporate Outreach committee is dedicated to providing professional, real-world advice useful to the members of UCA and the students of UC Berkeley in pursuit of their various careers. CO is responsible for hosting on-campus networking events and collaborating with Bay Area companies and experts in order to build better relationships and expand opportunities for members and students interested in corporate communications. We also develop close, long-term relationships with companies for potential on-campus events and office visits.
The Design Committee is dedicated to marketing for all UCA related events and fundraisers. The ultimate goal of the committee is to enhance UCA’s professional image on campus and raise student awareness through the use of innovative design and advertising strategies.
The Finance Committee is dedicated to enhancing the UCA experience for members by furthering the club’s financial resources. We will collaborate with other committees of UCA to host fundraisers and create partnerships with companies.
We are responsible for designing activities intended to promote the social aspect of member relations, imagination and creative ideas are a must. Interns should have an interest in any form of media and should be ready to do their best in meeting deadlines and being punctual.
The Secretary takes meeting minutes and attendance. In addition, the secretary delegates documents within the club.
The Publicity Committee works towards increasing awareness of the club and the media industry on several platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Callink. In this committee, interns will focus on learning how to write effective posts and research creative topics for each platform.
Strategic Consulting Committee
The Strategic Consulting Committee consists of six creative leaders who collaboratively teach and host case competition. They implement consulting service skills, strategies, and techniques into fictitious scenarios based on real-world situations. Essentially, the application of employing and learning about consulting offers practical practice of assisting businesses and organizations.
The Editorial Committee creates an active online presence on the club website and expands the UCA Blog. The blog focuses on topics and news in the field of communications; writers can expand their abilities and knowledge of the professional media sphere through publishing articles and maintaining an active online presence.
