Emily Welsch (1)President – Emily Welsch
Year: 4th
Major: Media Studies, History Minor
Experience: I have been with UCA since Spring 2014 and have had the pleasure of holding several leadership positions in the organization including Director of Communications and Internal Vice President.  This semester I am also serving as the Director of Cinematography for CalTV. In the past I’ve worked with Blue and Gold Yearbook, BCEC, and as an intern at D-Light Studios in Dublin, Ireland.
What are you looking forward to in UCA?: I am so excited to help UCA grow and to spend what little time I have left in college with some of the greatest people I’ve ever met!
What is your favorite 2000’s jam?: Oops…! I Did It Again by Britney Spears, pretty sure I still have this on a CD somewhere…

Sophia Siegler (1)Internal Vice President – Sophia Siegler
Year: Third
Major: Media Studies, English Minor
Experience: This is my 3rd semester in UCA, and my first as IVP. My previous experience includes eating a lot of pizza and binge-watching TV for days (I’m thinking of going pro). For serious though, I was Secretary of UCA last semester, as well as a blogger for Caliber Magazine and an editor at the Berkeley Undergraduate Journal for two semesters.
What are you looking forward to in UCA?: I’m super psyched to expand UCA this semester, as well as establish the Berkeley Media Journal, an undergraduate research journal in media studies. Let’s get grammarin’.
What is your favorite 2000’s jam?: “The Getaway” Hilary Duff (and all of her other songs…)

Elaine Jeng 2External Vice President – Elaine Jeng
Year: Junior
Major: Business Administration
Experience: This will be my second semester as External Vice President and I was previously the Director of Finance in UCA. Last summer, I worked as a Corporate Finance Intern for GMT Global Aviation, based in Dublin, Ireland. I had also interned as a Junior Accountant in JLA Home.
What are you looking forward to in UCA?: I am looking forward to meeting new members interested in media studies and communications.
What is your favorite 2000’s jam?: So Yesterday by Hilary Duff.. I even bought two of her albums when I was in elementary school.

Connie ChenMarketing Vice President – Connie Chen 
Year: 3rd
Major: Business Administration and intended Media Studies
Experience: I previously served as Director of Marketing in UCA. Last semester, I was a community manager intern for the Berkeley startup Localwise and have also interned at Downtown LA Art Walk and Brea Art Gallery. I recently signed on as a content creator for Newintown.com.
What are you looking forward to in UCA?: I’m looking forward to the cool office visits and opportunities to hear first-hand from people working in the fields I hope to take on in the near future! And as always, getting to know new members.
What is your favorite 2000’s jam?: A Moment Like This by Kelly Clarkson gives me a lot of feelings.

Kaitlin ListonDirector of Community Outreach – Kaitlin Liston
Year: Sophomore
Major: Pre-Haas & Media Studies
Experience: This is my second semester with UCA and my first semester as Director of Community Outreach. Last fall I took the semester off and helped with the start up of a non profit organization called CatzSOLE and this summer I worked as a production assistant for GolTV in Toronto, Canada.
What are you looking forward to in UCA?: This semester I’m looking forward to broadening UCA’s scope, attending the networking events, recruiting lots of new members, and getting to know all the amazing people in UCA better. 🙂

Director of Corporate Outreach – Victoria Hanson
Year: Junior
Major: Media Studies
Experience: I have been involved in public relations since my first semester at Cal, in Fashion & Student Trends. Later I joined UCA’s PR committee and became the Director of Corporate Outreach. In my sorority, I was the External Marketing Chair as well as the PR Vice President’s assistant. My latest activity was a law internship with the District Attorney’s Office over the summer, in which I worked in Consumer Fraud.
What are you looking forward to in UCA?: All the exciting events, making new professional connections, working with previous and new members to make our organization even better and more beneficial
What is your favorite 2000’s jam?: “If You’re Not the One” by Daniel Beddingfield, but then again, I have a lot of favorites!

Director of Finance – Lillian Kao
Year: Junior
Major: Economics and Media Studies
Experience: This is my second semester as Finance Director and third semester as a member of UCA. I am also the Finance Manager at The Daily Californian and have also been an extern at Pandora.
What are you looking forward to in UCA?: I’m looking forward to meeting people, all the exciting events and socials, and having a great semester in UCA!
What is your favorite 2000’s jam?: “Since U Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson and pretty much any Kelly Clarkson song!

Alex VillanuevaDirector of Member Relations – Alex Villanueva
Position: Member Relations
Year: 3rd Year/Junior
Major: Media Studies & Rhetoric
Experience: Started off in Fall 2014 as a member of the Marketing committee, then promoted to Director of Member Relations the following December. This will be my second year as a full-fledged member of the UCA, and my second semester in the aforementioned position. I’ve worked as a social media/marketing intern at the Not In Our Schools non-profit all of my second year. I am currently the marketing intern for a startup creating a social media app called ZomeChat.
What are you looking forward to in UCA?: Learning new skills, further developing my experience in the field of communications, meeting new professionals, accessing internships, and having more super-happy-fun times with my UCA besties.
What is your favorite 2000’s jam?: “Hollaback Girl”, by Gwen Stefani. Duh!

Viki Jan 1Co-Director of Strategic Consulting – Viki Jan
Position: Director of Strategic Consulting
Year: 2nd
Major: Intended Media Studies and Business Administration
Experience: This is my second semester with UCA and I am co-directors with Mofy for Strategic Consulting this year. We are really excited for this semester for the many things we planned to enrich interns’ experience. Get ready for a consulting workshop, internal case competition and semester long consulting project for local stores!
What are you looking forward to in UCA?: I enjoy meeting people also exploring interests in Media Studies and developing my profession careers with these insipring individuals.
What is your favorite 2000’s jam?: Definitely “Twerk” by Lady, stuck with me ever since I heard it on Ray Donovan (it’s a great show go watch it!)

Mofy MoCo-Director of Strategic Consulting – Mofy Mo
Year: 2nd
Major: Economics and German
Experience: This is my second semester at UCA. At my first semester, I worked as intern at UCA under strategic consulting committee. This summer I worked as paid intern for Jackson Industry in Hong Kong.
What are you looking forward to in UCA: Leadership opportunities and career development. In this coming fall semester Strategic Consulting Committee will be holding one internal case competition workshop and internal competition. We are also proud to start our pro-bono consulting projects facing local stores and start-ups. More exciting events are coming and we can’t wait to share them with our upcoming new members!
What is your favorite 2000’s jam?: “Can’t hold us” by Macklemore. Enough explanation for our spirit just with its name! 😀

Janet SongDirector of Social Media – Janet Song
Year: 5th
Major: ISF with a concentration in Business, Media Studies, and Sociology
Experience: During community college I helped a new club grow on campus for transfer students. I was on the fundraising committee, then became the historian and secretary for this club. This is my third semester in UCA. Last year I worked as an intern for Corporate Outreach. I spent the summer studying abroad in Madrid, Spain.
What are you looking forward to in UCA?: Bonding with club members and officers, meeting new people, and networking with media professionals.
What is your favorite 2000’s jam?: “What Dreams Are Made of” by Hilary Duff…the real reason I went on study abroad.

OTKHistorian – Olivia Tang-Kong
Year: 4th
Major: Media Studies and Economics
Experience: I have previously held positions within UCA as Director of Strategic Consulting and President. Outside of UCA, I am currently interning with ZS Associates and have held previous positions within the UC Berkeley Admissions Office as well as UC Berkeley Student Affairs Communications and CalSO.
What are you looking forward to in UCA?: As always, I am looking forward to connecting with students who share my passion for media and communications, while also watching this club grow and develop its campus presence.
What is your favorite 2000’s jam?: 1, 2 Step by Ciara ft. Missy Elliott. I was a lot cooler back in elementary school.

Justine Sizemore 1Director of Design – Justine Sizemore
Year: 2nd
Major: Media Studies and Sociology
Experience: This is my third Semester with UCA and second semester as Director of Design. I have been working in graphic design, primarily in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, for about five years now. More recently I have begun to work in Adobe Illustrator and am learning the ins and out of that program as well.
What are you looking forward to in UCA?: I am looking forward to and semester of development for UCA. Since joining I have seen the club expand and become increasingly more professional and effective. It is a great opportunity for students to be a part of such an inspiring organization, focused on constant improvement and growth.
What is your favorite 2000’s jam?: “Mr. Brightside” – The Killers

Natalie SmithSecretary – Natalie Smith
Year: 3rd
Major: Media Studies
Experience: This is my second semester in UCA and it is my first semester as Secretary. Last semester I was an intern for Secretary and Member Relations.  I worked this summer as a Marketing Intern for TenCate Advanced Composites in Fairfield, Ca.
What are you looking forward to in UCA?: I am excited for meeting new friends who share my passion and enthusiasm for media and communications as well as seeing UCA continue to grow.
What is your favorite 2000’s jam?: Tell Me When To Go by E-40. If you haven’t heard this song, please listen to it now. 🙂

Paulina Saracco (2)Webmaster – Paulina Saracco
Year: 3rd
Major: Media Studies with History of Art and Conservation and Resource Studies Minors
Experience: This is my second semester as Webmaster for UCA and my third semester as a member. During the summer I worked as a marketing intern at Gormleys Fine Arts in Dublin, Ireland. I was also a marketing analyst for the Latino Business Student Association and a mentor for the Youth Support Program.
What are you looking forward to in UCA?: I am looking forward to meeting more creative and passionate people that are interested in mass communications.
